a language a lashing expression so foreign
tongue in my ear a breathing so foreign
sibilance guttural clicks of the throat
rewired synapse connections so foreign
barrier broken flood out of control
thrusting the brain embedded so far in
deep ever closer more now always there
morning day night tomorrow so foreign
adriene exhaled on your sigh satisfied
incorporeal so outré so foreign

Thanks, Jess! 🙂
Love it again! “thrusting the brain embedded so far in / deep ever closer more now always there”
Thank you! I’d like to explore this form some more. It can be really powerful.
Thanks for a “new” poetry form. I’ll try it once the atoz is done.
It has a very different feel to it than what I’m used to, still need to understand it some more. But I think you’ll like it. It carries you away with momentum.
I’ve never even heard of this form of poetry before, Adrienne. You have done a marvelous job with this – what great imagery!
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it. It’s my first time trying it.
Show off 😉
Lol! No, Chaz! If it’s any consolation, getting these lines out was a real struggle! 😉
Adriene, this one has great rhythm! And it’s catchy! I smiled at the title since that coupled with the “guttural sounds” reminded me of a time I visited Germany. Trust me, I gave new meaning to the phrase, “lost in translation”! 🙂
Ha! I know what you mean. There are just some languages it seems like I would never be able to understand or speak! That’s probably one of them.
Hello.
Love the rhythm and flow of this. Well done!
