Poetry and personal blog – Spilling my guts to strangers

Fruit falls from the trees;
your hair, a jungle caught in
original sin.

NaPoWriMo Day 3. Using the NaPoWriMo prompt, I wrote this poem based on the song that was #1 on the charts the day I  was born. I had never heard this one before, so I had to look up the lyrics.

Check out this list of my poet friends who are also doing the poem-a-day challenge. Visit them and cheer them on! Contact me if you want to be added to the list.

  7. Mmmm, hmmm… You’re good at this poetry writing thang. Yes indeed. Your words captured the essence of this catchy Elvis tune perfectly. 🙂

    • Tameka,

      I have responded to your very nice comments my blog, and mentioned there that I’ve been trying to comment on your work on your typepad ….but I can see only sidebar content. Now on the archive page I can see post unformatted but if I click through to comment I return to another blank body page. This happens in two browsers. I’m trying to figure out the problem…Just want to let you know.

      Regards,
      Doug

    • Thanks, Tameka! Lots of animals and hair touching in that one! ;p

  8. Good Get Girl. A whole lot going on in these three lines.

    Regards,
