(10/13/2012 – This ebook is no longer available as a free download. But for $0.99 at Amazon.com or Smashwords, it is still a great bargain! The commentary [but not the poetry] has undergone revisions and the wonderful illustrations by CJ Tittle have been removed.)
I had no idea when I took part in National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) this past April that it was going to be fun, educational, cathartic, inspirational, and tremendously fulfilling. But it was–so much so that I decided to compile the poems posted on the blog that month into an ebook called “30 Poems, 30 Days: Inside a Poet’s Mind,” with illustrations by blogging friend and amazing artist CJ Tittle.
In addition to the poems, I added never-before-seen commentary explaining my thoughts on each of them, such as what led me to write them and my interpretations. I think it provides some insight into the creative process and how it relates to just being human.
That’s a great value for free, so please, download and enjoy. Share the ebook with family, friends, and anyone you think would be interested. Click here for the pdf or here for the mobi file for Kindle and other ebook readers. [Added 10-9-2011: “30 Poems 30 Days” is now available as a free download in various formats at Smashwords.]
Now that I know how to make a Kindle ebook, could an ebook with original poems be far behind?
Stay tuned!

It turned out so wonderfully SJ! My first stint at ebook illustration. Now I can add it to the list of things I’ve drawn or painted on :D. The added text to the poetry is great to enhance the reading.
Congratulations SJ!

Thanks, Cath! Your illustrations are a perfect fit. I can’t imagine the book without them; you really captured the feel I was going for. It was wonderful working with you. ❤

Mazel tov and looking forward to an ebook of original work too.
Next time you can pay for it, Stu! ;p Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement!
Well done, Adriene! I am especially struck by the last line in your Foreword – about poetry being a “saving grace.” That’s EXACTLY what I wrote in a poem a number of years ago! It’s certainly true for me. I’ll share the poem with you when I can find where I saved it.
I’d love to see you poem, Diane. Thanks so much for reading.
Congrats! I wrote the first half of my novel in NANO-what a month. I commend your efforts for sticking it out, and for compiling and sharing. I am new to poetry but I like playing. Looking forward to reading.
Thanks, Brenda! I amazed at how effective these challenges can be. It gives me hope that I can continue at least to some extent during the rest of the year! 😉

I will be anxiously awaiting. Hope you’re having a lovely week 😉
Thank you, Amberr! xo
Thanks for sharing this gift of your poetry. Have not read all as yet as I want to peruse them carefully. However, “Redness”, “Insomnia”, “Moving Day” already stand out in my mind. You’re a great poet and I’m honored to be in the same online group as you. Cathy’s illustrations are wonderful, as always.
I’m touched and thrilled by your comment, Pennie. Such support by you and others means more than you know. xox
Congrats!
Thanks! ;p

Great idea! Know what’s funny? I did this 2 years ago in March. Then found out about April being poetry month. I was bummed, but still turned out some great poems. I’ve a feeling I want to do this again in 2012.
It’s a great exercise. I may do it again as well.
This should be delightful. Looking forward to reading it!
I’d like to think so! ;p Thanks, Debra!
Congratulations! Kudos both on the writing of the poems and your bravery in sharing them.
Thanks you so much, Patrick! I model myself after artists who are fearless in sharing deeply personal experiences.
That’s really very noble of you. And generous!
The whole thing was a labor of love, sweat, tears, and many blessing. So I figured I’d continue spreading the good karma!
