spring sky
embraces the blue
well met
then there was laughter
and after sun rain

Thank you, Thom!
Hi Sweepy –
I love it when the clear blue sky drop a quick dump of rain. Amazing how that works out. 🙂
Ah, the mysteries of life and poetry … thanks for reading! 😉
We had the exact same sky this morning, the only difference was that it is SUMMER… as of today!
Happy Summer and thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Well, here in London the weather is schizophrenic. It can change in a couple of minutes, or we can have rain and sunshine at the same time. This is perfectly captured with the words “sun rain”…
Visiting London is definitely on my bucket list! Thanks, Muriel!
I love it! “Well met” describing the sky embracing the blue. So simple yet so full of imagery.
Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy your posts 🙂
Thanks so much, Maureen!
This describes our day in reverse. We had after rain sun, after sun rain …….and it’s midsummers day.
I’m glad you had a chance to stop by, thanks!
what a stunning description of late spring/early summer in the south!

Thank you, Cathy!
I absolutely love how you frame this poem with “well met” in the middle of it. May just be my interpretation, but it makes me feel like everything comes together. Beautiful, Adriene! Thank you! =)
I’m glad you see it that way, Sam. I also believe that it is the pivotal line. ❤
Haiku is a great poetry art and hard to master. You certainly have done so here. Love your highly visual “and after sun rain”. Good luck with the poetry challenge.
Thanks, Penelope. Haiku is deceptively simple but it can pack a lot of power!
Lovely poem – will definitely come back – wish I had some “after rain sun” though 🙂
Soon the sun, Morgaine! 🙂 I’m so glad you stopped by!
oops a daisy – I have been led here by rhyme me a smiles “Smiley Sociology study”!
I love the way you say so much in just so many words! Loved it!
Thanks, Hajra! ❤
I always like how open to interpretation your poems are by the reader.
Thanks, Lucy! I think a poem has more power when the reader is involved somehow.
Very nice! And for me, a hopeful reminder…It’s been pouring all day…
Thanks oncevagain for the great poetry!
